Fostering

We are a foster-based rescue, and we need foster homes for cats of all ages and personalities.  Fosters can help socialize animals, keep them in good health, and help them find forever homes.

1.  Complete a foster application at tinyurl.com/a2rfosterapp

2.  Complete a virtual home visit - we'll contact you

3.  We'll contact you when we have a pet who needs a foster - which is almost always!

Below are some basic supplies based on animal(s) fostered.  We can teach you what you need to know, help get you started with supplies, and discuss other nice to have items.

  • Basic necessities for all fostered animals: A safe space (even a bathroom), that is easy to clean where fosters can be quarantined.

  • Basic necessities for bottle babies without a mama:

Bottles or feeding syringes with nipples, formula, warm blankets and pet safe heating pad, a pet carrier.  Depending on the age and health of the kittens, you may need to be available as often as every 2-3 hours at first but as the kittens get older they will eat less often.

  • Basic necessities for young kittens with a mama:

Small room or cage large enough for mama and babies, food/water and litterbox for mama, blankets.

  • Basic necessities for older kittens and cats:

Small room to quarantine (at least in the beginning), food/water, litterbox.

  • Fosters may be asked to bring (or arrange to bring) pets to doctor visits, update us on the animals' health, provide pictures and personality information to help with adoptions, and bring pets to meet potential adopters.
